The Team

Each Committee Member has a number of key responsibilities for the effective running of the club. Everyone has a job to do while helping to maintain the club's charity status and assisting with the smooth flow of every training session, meeting or event.
The Committee Members are unpaid volunteers who help support the troupe, train the different sections and aid with all other aspects of the club. This being from arranging the weekly transport hire to competitions, sourcing new uniforms and completing grants & fundraising applications. They give their time and energy to conduct duties and responsibilities while acting with integrity at all times.
All of our Committee Members are DBS checked and are very professional in their job roles. Every month the team hold a meeting to discuss any updates, information, applications or any other relevant material for discussion regarding the group. The team also governed their own rules and regulations to create a successful charity. There is also a yearly AGM conducted, where the parents, members over the age of 18 years and anyone else involved with the club will be invited to attend.

Linda Benson

Chairperson

Linda has been at the Hyndburn Comets Majorettes since she was 7 years old back in 1992. She is fully dedicated and committed to the members and the overall continuation of the club and its ongoing success. She is very compassionate and prides herself on being a good example to others. Linda currently leads on the Senior training, helps out with the uniforms and oversees all the fundraising to bring funds into the club.

Robyn Bayliss

Vice-Chairperson

Robyn or Bob for short is the trainer for the Tinies and the Senior Troupe. She volunteers her free time to assist the members with routines, learning new chorography and giving feedback as required. Robyn also assists with the pumps and batons for events & competitions - cleaning and preparing for the next competition. She also attends and helps at charity events that are scheduled to help fundraise for the club.

Delicia Makin

Treasurer

As the Treasurer of Hyndburn Comets Majorettes, Del currently contributes hugely to the club - from overseeing the monies in & out, taking care of uniforms, aiding with the overall running of the club recently and generally supporting everyone.

Del has been part of the Hyndburn Comets for many years. She has been a committed dancer and loyal to all that she meets. She currently fully assists in the Babies and Tinies training and assists in teaching new members the amazing hobby. Del is always involved in trying to bring new members into the club and will attend local events in aid to support this.

Danielle Burrell

Committee Member

Danielle has been at the troupe for many, many years and helps where possible. She is the Juniors trainer and commits herself to the troupe wholeheartedly. Danielle is a key player to the senior troupe, she is committed and loyal which is exactly what you need from a committee member.

Georgina Wearing

Committee Member

Georgina was also a dancer who came back from retirement for the reunion team and continued to dance for more years. Georgina also has 2 daughters that dance within the Hyndburn Comets and she always treats them exactly the same as the other members. Everyone listens when she gives advice if required. She is hard working and a great asset to the club.
